RRMS Partner, Brian Lin, was the lead expert representing BNY Mellon opining on potential damages relating to the alleged breaches of representation and warranties for 530 Countrywide mortgage securitization trusts. On behalf of BNY Mellon, RRMS also provided advisory services relating to the transfer of high risk assets from Countrywide and performed the field audit reviews of selected specialty servicers. The $8.5 billion landmark settlement reached by Bank of America (BofA) and the investors is the largest private RMBS settlement to date. On January 31st, 2014, the Honorable Justice Barbara Kapnick approved the $8.5 billion settlement. On March 5th, 2015, the New York State Appellate Court approved $8.5 Settlement in its entirety. Click here to view the press release relating to settlement approval.
